Who I Am

Professional Background

I am a cognitive behaviorist with a master’s degree from Portland State University.  I graduated with honors in 2017, became a CADC I in 2019, licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2021, and have supervised clinical staff.  My goal is to reach the severe and persistent mentally ill, folks who have been marginalized and diminished in society by their mental health struggles, the forgotten and unusual, and folks who continue to be impacted by their mental health challenges. I have worked in the mental health field for more than 15 years.  My approach may be, at times, unconventional and real-world eclectic based upon where the person is in their struggles.  I utilize a holistic, person-centered treatment focus and build trusting relationships to assist clients in their ability to make great changes in their lives. Evidence-based treatment with positive client outcomes and years of hands-on practice in a busy outpatient setting.

Personal Background

I am a native-born Oregonian, my childhood was spent in Idaho.  My family moved back to Southern Oregon in my young teens and embarked upon building our own home. This was with much trial and error, and many humorous situations.  Through this process, and throughout my life, I have learned to appreciate the value of family, teamwork, individuality, and the importance of a solid and somewhat offbeat sense of humor.  I have learned to be open to a wide range of spiritual beliefs, respecting the varied experiences of people I have encountered, and belief in extraordinary circumstances.  These values continue to be a part of my life and what I experience each day in my interactions with people. My interests include photography (water drop, the unusual, macro, nature and black & white), herbalism, folk healing, crystals, rock hunting, insects (especially spiders), and animals.
